"I've developed an in-depth system for evaluating success among my team members. As a manager, I check in twice per week with each member of my team. On Mondays, the entire team meets to set our goals together. Then, on Fridays, we meet as a group and 1:1 to discuss any successes and challenges. I have them self-evaluate and then we create a plan for success for the upcoming week. I evaluate their success based on their follow-through and willingness to work hard to reach their goals."

"I have various KPIs in place to measure the success of each team member. In addition to these objective metrics, I think it's critical to meet on a regular basis with each team member to hear directly from them about how they would rate their own progress on a project. I've found that, for the most part, these individuals have been quite self-aware and motivated to address any obstacles in the way of their success. In this way, I strive to foster an open conversation with team members rather than maintaining a hierarchical approach."

Point to previous leadership experiences while discussing with your interviewer how you stay aware of each team members' success. Demonstrate that you have a system in place for objectively evaluating performance and that your actions help support the success of your team members.
