Who is your hero or role model and why?

A candidate's role model, or figure of inspiration, will offer a glimpse into their personality, philosophy, and approach to life and work. They'll examine the examples offered and consider how well a candidate will work with their leaders and their team. This may also help them pair them with the type of leader who best matches an applicant's inspiration based on their ideals, helping that leader better serve as a role model for them through the experience.

Your life's inspiration can come from a book, a mentor, your family, a celebrity, an author--anyone! Talk to the interviewer about who has inspired your life and why. Be relatable and try to inspire conversation. How well you get along with your interviewer will also offer insights on how well you will get along with the mentor they place you with.

"I'd say my grandfather was my role model. He was a fighter pilot in the 50s and 60s for the Navy and encouraged me to join the Navy out of high school. I did, and they paid for my education. He taught me my work ethic early on and that your work means nothing if not performed with integrity."
