At Ideal Image Development, Inc. we prefer to hire those with formal training in beauty, makeup, or other related fields. Walk me through your relative training.
Your beauty related training may include formal courses or even on-the-job training. Likely this training is already listed on your resume; however, the interviewer would like for you to go into further detail. Be sure to express how your education will benefit Ideal Image Development, Inc., should you be hired.
If you have related education/training: "I attended CMC Makeup School in Texas. My specialty was SPFX makeup and body painting. This unique focus gives me an edge in the market because my creativity is tapped hugely. Also, CMC is one of the top beauty schools in the US so you can be assured that I come well trained."

If you do not have the related education/training: "I do not have formal training in makeup and beauty; however, since I was a young teen, I would watch and try online makeup tutorials for hours a week. The beauty industry is a passion of mine that I have immersed myself in for years, so I do consider myself well trained and up to date on trends and techniques."

I don't have professional experience in the beauty industry, however, have always been the girl all my friends and family would come to do their make-up. This was always such a compliment to me and made me feel so great knowing they trusted me with applying their makeup. I am always online watching the newest makeup, skincare videos and staying up to date as much as I can!

Good answer! Consider rephrasing it so it starts off on a positive note instead of a negative one. See below for an example:
I am the person my friends and family come to when they need someone to do their makeup. I've gained a lot of experience in applying makeup because of these word-of-mouth referrals, and I take it as a compliment that they trust me to make them look amazing for the big events in their lives. While I don't have any professional training, I'm always online watching the newest makeup and skincare videos so I can stay abreast of new trends and techniques. I hope to have the opportunity to receive formal training in the future as I know this will bolster my natural talent in this area.
