We even encourage differences of opinion, as long as everyone is respectful and kind. Have you ever disagreed with a decision your supervisor made? How did you approach that situation?

"About a year ago, my current manager promoted a very new, seasonal sales associate to a much higher-level position at the store. All of my coworkers and I were frustrated because many of us had been working in the store for several years longer than the employee who received the promotion. I was really upset about it, so I asked my manager if we could talk. I let her know where I was coming from and why I was confused about her choice, and she listened patiently. She stood by her decision, but I left the meeting feeling like she heard and understood my point of view and had my best interests in mind."
