How competitive are you?
Becton, Dickinson and Company has many competitors, including Braun, Cardinal Health, 10X Genomics, Medtronic, Eli Lilly, Baxter International, Zimmer Biomet, and Bio-Rad.
Explain your experience with competition through an example from a previous position or experience. Focus on actions and results but be sure your competitiveness doesn't come across too aggressively. Assure the interviewer that you have a tremendous competitive edge when necessary but can balance that competition healthily. Also, describe what gives you the competitive edge as a candidate.
"I think that on a scale of 1-10, I would rate myself as a 7 when it comes to being competitive. I love a good competition in the workplace when it comes to sales goals and breaking through last year's numbers. I am not competitive to the point that it would hurt my team or colleagues."
"I am not overly competitive when it comes to my ego. My competitive nature kicks in when I have a deadline to meet or a client who wants to be impressed by my level of work and service."
