Assure the interviewer that you are engaged when it comes to new information, research, and innovation in your line of work by discussing ways that you currently stay on top of things. This can include participation in field-related societies/organizations, reading publications, or attending conferences. It is also great to have a great network of people you can collaborate with across other companies and maybe even industries.
