Question 3 of 35

Tell me a little about yourself.

"I started my sales career in a large corporate setting, and there I received a promotion within only a few months. I decided that I wanted to stretch my wings and made the leap to a startup. I have had continued success there and am in my preferred sales territory; however, I feel that I may have outgrown the position. Right now there isn't an opportunity for a managerial position here, so I'm looking at outside opportunities, such as this one with BASF SE."

      What You Need to Know

Many interviewers will start off with this question, which serves as an icebreaker, designed to get you to relax, lower your guard, and provide them with a more accurate portrayal of who you are as a person. It is just as important for you to research yourself as well as the company you are interviewing for. This will help you align your pursuits with what they are looking for in their ideal candidate. Offer personal details which are relevant to this professional opportunity. Respond by mentioning your education, how many years of experience you have in your field, and be sure to provide some details about your most current position. But be prepared to answer other questions surrounding your education and professional experience. Conclude your response with a statement about what you are looking for in a job at this time and how that relates to your career pursuits.
