I once disagreed with my boss over how to best help a customer. Rather than question his authority in front of everyone, I talked to him off of the floor. I was open and honest about the problems I had with the way he wanted to do things. It turned out that there was just a simple misunderstanding. That disagreement we had demonstrated to me the importance of communicating with my coworkers to make sure that something doesn't become a bigger problem than it needs to be.

When I first started out as a cashier position at an ice cream shop we were big on guest interaction. They eventually decided to cut back on labor, diminishing the amount of face-to-face interaction. It was a concern if the guest would not be pleased with this so I brought my concern to the manager and talked with him about it. That is when he discussed with me about budgeting and how they have to make certain budgets and it was one way to improve speed as well.

Stephanie's Feedback
You do a great job of articulating a specific time when you disagreed with your boss, however, this response should include a closing sentence to show impact and/or circle back to the prompt. For example: "Although I had a different perspective from my boss, I was able to understand his explanation and it helped me better understand the needs of the company."
Prepare for scenario-based questions that test your enforcement judgment and field expertise.
