What would you like to learn here as an intern?
The interviewer asks this question to see how the organization can help you achieve your career goals if they choose you for the internship. They want to hear what skills you want to work on and what you need help with to succeed in your career.
Focus on giving two or three examples of skills you would like to learn during your social work internship. If you highlight several skills you would like to learn, it shows the interviewer that you are motivated to succeed and learn all you can during your internship.
Avoid not having a response to this question. If you have not thought about what you would like to learn during your social work internship, the interviewer may feel that you are disorganized and unmotivated to succeed.
"I would like to learn several things as an intern. I want to learn how to conduct a group counseling session, perform risk assessments, and intervene in a crisis situation. I have some basic understanding of these skills, but I know I will learn additional techniques and strengthen these skills during my internship."
