I have been talking and shadowing NPs working in different specialties; I joined the AANP to become informed about current professional trends. I hope to build a strong foundation of education and community that will help me in school and beyond."
When considering candidates, programs want to be confident that the students they select can succeed during and after the program. Show the interviewer that you have thought about more than passing classes and have taken the time to find out from other NP school students, NPs, and organizations in the field. This is also an opportunity to bring up topics you learned talking to others.
