Taking the time to write out my thoughts helps me slow down and make sure I am actually communicating what I mean to say. However, I know there are situations where verbal communication is more effective, such as when a question needs to be answered quickly so I can meet a deadline or if I have a design question that has a complicated answer. In those situations, it's possible to more efficiently share information in a conversation than by trying to figure it all out over email."
