As with any operating system, developers can create code using a variety of different programming languages. Since the Android OS operates on mobile platforms with limited resources, programmers need to be very efficient in their code. When responding to this question, you should provide the interviewer at Doordash with a list of the programming languages you typically use and which align with those used by the Doordash development team. You can identify which languages they use by researching the organization. Sources for the information include Doordash's website, the job description, and speaking with current and former Doordash software development team members.

"The primary language I typically use when programming for Android is Java, using IDEs including Eclipse and NetBeans. Other languages I'm familiar with and sometimes employ include Python, C#, and a new language called Kotlin. I'm using this latter one more frequently due to it being object-oriented and cross-platform. It also uses some of the same IDEs as Java. I noticed on your website that many of Doordash's development team members are also using Kotlin for newer applications they are working on."
