ARDMS certification is a widely recognized credential for sonographers and other medical professionals who work with ultrasound technology. It stands for the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography, and it indicates that the individual has met a high standard of professional competence and has demonstrated their ability to perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures accurately and safely. Obtaining ARDMS certification typically involves meeting educational and clinical experience requirements, passing a series of exams, and maintaining ongoing continuing education credits to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the field.

To become registered as an ultrasound tech, you will need to complete your Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) exam. From there, you can take specialty exams in the following categories: abdomen, breast, fetal echocardiography, obstetrics and gynecology, and pediatric sonography. If you plan to become certified, explain your time frame to show you will be certified by a specific date.
