What would you do if a passenger told you to turn off the meter and they would pay you cash for the ride?

"I would never turn off my meter and accept payment for a ride, under the table. I had had a couple of passengers offer this before, to which I politely declined, and proceeded to turn on the meter. In my opinion, there is no room for dishonesty in the workplace."

If you've been a taxi driver for quite a while, then you have undoubtedly come across this situation already. Prove your integrity to the interviewer by assuring them that you would never be dishonest about a ride by accepting cash payment and not logging the trip.

"Turning off the meter is against any taxi company's policy and very deceptive practice. I'd have to tell the customer politely that I can't accommodate their request. If they insist, then I have no choice but to decline them the remainder of their ride, dropping them off at the nearest safe spot."
