"I chose your residency program over others for several reasons. First, my grandfather was a resident in your pediatric program and highly recommended the training and guidance he received. Secondly, your program was the first pediatric residency program in the country. After researching your program in greater depth, I was excited to see that you offer many opportunities in research, teaching, and patient care. You offer pathways for residents with specific career interests in medical education, patient safety, quality improvement, and global health.
