      How to Answer

      Interviewers want to hear about that one unique skill that sets you apart from the other candidates applying for this job. Think of your answer as your 'elevator pitch' or your qualifying statement. If you can't think of ways that you are unique, ask a few friends or family members what they feel sets you apart from other people. Their observations may help you understand how you are perceived.

      Perhaps you already know what sets you apart! This skill could include any industry accolades, exceptional achievements, additional industry related training, a second language, or how involved you are in the community. Don't be afraid to brag about yourself a bit. In an interview, you are your most influential advocate.

That didn't stop me from becoming the #1 sales person in the company within six months. I am dedicated to my craft and engaged in this industry to the point where I commit myself to take at least one business development or leadership related workshop every business quarter. I am a competitive achiever. You won't be disappointed when you hire me."

      "Because, with my almost five years of experience within the same team, I can hit the ground running. I got the knowledge of the structure and functioning of the organization, and the tools needed, I achieved an amazing balance within the team, building a relationship of trust and mutual respect not only with my colleagues but all across the organization. I have also developed a network of very positive working relationships with delegates, who turn to me for assistance because they trust me to solve the issues at hand. As the section is approaching the most intense period of the year, my capacity to be 100%operational as of day one would be a great asset. Secondly, because I love this job, I think my team is great, and I am genuinely passionate about the work of this organization. I have been working some of the tasks within the job description for a few years so, and I know I would be excited to keep doing it. This position is a natural step forward for me."

      This is a great start, and these are all excellent reasons to hire you! Are you able to go into further detail by describing a situation in which you leveraged all or some of these characteristics? You could also dive further into the ways that 20 years of manufacturing and production will benefit the employer. The more specific you are, the better :)

      "I have a lot of skill and experience in training, sales & marketing in travel retail, and brand management for luxury fragrance brands.   Fragrance and liquor - both have similarities in the luxury brand category. I know the personality of the market. As a marketer and trainer of luxury brands, I know our customers are those that know how to appreciate high-quality products. My background in both trainer and sales & marketing in travel retail is unlike anyone else and has given me the ability to sell anything. Be it fragrances or liquor, I have my own strategy and skills in retailing the products. If I am accepted in this position, I’m able to apply these skills to my new role."
