Your interviewer wants to know how likely you are to attend UVA Darden if they accept you into the program. As an MBA program candidate, you can expect this question or a similar question in at least one of your interviews. It is imperative to prepare a thoughtful and authentic response.
My advice may divert from that of other career coaches on this question, but I always encourage my clients to answer 100% authentically when answering questions like these. If UVA Darden is your first choice this is an easy question. Let your interviewer know they rank #1 on your list and provide a few details as to why they are in the top spot. Try to relate your response to a specific professional opportunity or aligned values.
If Darden is not your top choice, be sure to compliment the program in some way after you explain why another program may be a better fit for you. The admissions committee understands that UVA Darden is not a perfect fit for everyone. However, it is best to answer in a positive way that boosts your chances of acceptance.
