The PA Program Admissions Committee at Pace University may use this question as an icebreaker to start the admissions interview. Your response aims to give the decision-makers a glimpse into who you are and how your education and work history has landed you where you are today. You also want to spotlight the factors that make you an excellent student candidate for the College of Health Professions and the PA program.
The Past, Present, Future framework can help you build a memorable answer to questions that ask you to talk about your background or introduce yourself.
- Past: Discuss how you got to where you are today

"(Past) In 2018, I graduated from ABC University with a Bachelor of Nursing. Since graduating, I have worked in a family medicine clinic, assisting and supporting two physicians. My days include collecting patient histories, prepping rooms for physical examinations, and counseling patients on preventative health initiatives. (Present) Over the past year, I have felt the pull to further my ability to include diagnosing illnesses and collaborating to develop treatment strategies for my patients. After some research, I found that becoming a Physician Assistant was an excellent option to meet these career growth desires. (Future) As a Nurse, I have developed exceptional skills and knowledge that align well with the responsibilities of a Physician Assistant. I am ready to enter my next career phase and expand my education as a health care provider."
