If you could meet anyone in the history of medicine, who would you choose and why?

This is more of a personal interest question, and you cannot give a wrong answer here. Think back to any of whose story resonates with you the most. Think of what they overcame and how you can relate to their story. Or perhaps they discovered, created, or invented something you admire so much. It's also a great idea to think of the most burning question you would have for that individual. Add passion to your answer so the interviewers can sense a genuine interest.

"If I could meet anyone in the history of medicine, I would go back to the very beginning and meet Hippocrates. I find it fascinating that he was the first person ever to believe that disease and death were not a result of the anger of gods. I would ask him what that first conversation sounded like...when he first told others that disease is not caused by superstitious belief. He would have had to have faced so many roadblocks, yet, he continued to believe in his work."

Focus on describing the person in the history of medicine you most admire and why. Talk about how you were inspired by this person and what effect they had on you to pursue a career in medicine.
