QUESTION 16 OF 27

Can you explain the impact edge computing has on a company's network and why this is important?

The purpose of this question is to determine the depth of your knowledge in edge computing and networking technologies. This is important if you are interfacing with clients who have committed to a cloud computing strategy but whose business model may not be well suited to this strategy. You can answer this question to demonstrate both your knowledge of the technology and your ability to upsell the company's clients on additional services.

"When you place your IT assets in the cloud, you increase the amount of network traffic. This is due to computers, applications, and data being remote to the users. To reduce the traffic on the network and minimize associated security issues, you can place some of the computing power, applications and data at the user locations. This will also reduce data transmission costs and latency. Finally, edge computing will improve the quality of service (QoS) and the user experience."
