Medical care is one of the most burdensome expenses for many American families. While there are state and federal programs that provide medical care, not everyone qualifies. Further, it is a very touchy situation for many, esp. those who do not qualify for free medical care, but feel their tax dollars pay for others to be provided care. Whether this opinion is of substance or not is, again, a matter of opinion. The interviewer is not looking for a judgmental answer from you, but will be looking more to see if you appear to be willing to provide care to all patients, without prejudice, regardless of their ability to pay. Regardless of your personal opinion, remember you have only one chance to make a first impression. Show compassion in your answer, no matter what your personal feelings may be.
