Any time you're asked to explain a concept, process, or term used in the role you are interviewing for, the interviewer is trying to accomplish two objectives. The first is to test your knowledge and make sure you are qualified for the position. The second is to understand how you communicate. This latter objective is just as important as the first because a major focus for your job will be to discuss networking terms with people throughout the organization. These include both technical and non-technical individuals. The most successful people within an organization are those who are the best communicators.
