My core interests have always been inclined towards implementing technology solutions to address business challenges. For example, in my current organization I revamped the entire Document Management System to the SharePoint 2013 platform as I found it was easy and efficient to implement role based access control and share documents. I want to hone my skills as a manager and critical thinker, who has the vigour and creativity to formulate ground breaking technology solutions for businesses. Therefore, I want to pursue a career in information systems management.

We previous company where I was working. We started to establish a IT infrastructure from scratch. I was there and with the help my supervisor we created a simplest and effective IT infrastructure.

Though I have not directly configured and implemented physical IT infrastructure, I have made proper use of it for deploying Enterprise Solutions. The infrastructure is handled by a different team altogether, but from time to time I go into the Data Centre to check up on the servers hosting my applications, physically. I was involved in configuring and deploying a large-scale enterprise documents management system on SharePoint 2013. It involved installing. Configuring SharePoint Server and creating & designing SharePoint sites.

My interests have been inclined towards using my creativity to design solutions for addressing business challenges. I am more drawn to the business analysis side, and I think being an Information Systems Manager will cater to my interests. Furthermore, being a manager will help me visualize and analyse the business impacts of any problem and its solution, and I will hone my critical thinking and analysis skills, which is why I want to be an Info Systems Manager.

Yeah . It was a project that given to me in a vary limited time. The system was in a failed stage. And I was asked to review the system and make it up again. The system required a kind of reformat the business process and run it again with new design. I requested a extra cost and fortunately I got and we succeed.

Tell me about a crisis you encountered at work and how you handled it.

These days I am working on a critical project. We are organizing a mega international scale event, for which I have designed the registration system. Users have to submit payments online. In a few cases there were payment issues, so I got many calls from anxious users. I maintained my calm and assisted them through a step by step procedure, sometimes over the phone, and sometimes by taking a remote control of their machines. There was another incident when the main server failed due to hardware failure. The top boss was angry and anxious, but I did not let that get the best of me. I collaborated with the AMC Vendor and the network team to get the server repaired, while moving the website to another server to bring up the services.

That was a crisis regarding budget. Suddenly the finance broked my budget. So I work out and with my team find the way to refine y project and reallocate the budget by set the priority of the priorities.

Server down due to network connection, its had to re connection within the time, but I completed in it time.

As I am currently a teacher you always encounter crisis, whether it is related to a learners work or even in a more MIS manner when you need to record learner marks and information and your working with a flawed system given to you by your superiors. You need to find a way to make it work, even if it cost you nights of staying up as you have deadline to release reports. Any crisis can be resolved if you have dedication and hard work ethic.
