How would you describe the relationship between science and medicine?

"Medicine and science go hand in hand, in my opinion. They need each other. Medical breakthroughs often rely heavily on science based studies, and vice versa. Most legitimate types of treatment come heavily backed from science. The two need each other not only for their legitimacy but also for the protection of patients."
