"When it comes to controversial topics such as abortion, euthanasia, physician-assisted suicide, and cloning, I will give my opinions more freely in a social setting with friends versus the workplace or around patients. At work, I would try to keep my personal opinion to myself or, at the very least, remain diplomatic by expressing how each side has their right to an opinion. That can often provide great dialog with patients, and I look forward to having those conversations."

Explain how you will remain tactful when controversial topics arise during your time as a medical student at Wayne State University. Make sure you reiterate that you won't give your own biased opinion, but rather that you won't hesitate to offer your professional viewpoints of both sides and put the onus back on the patient to make their own informed decision for their health.
