What is your experience ad libbing when necessary on television?

Oftentimes, anchors are required to ad lib when technology fails or another anchor needs help. An entertainment anchor must be able to speak well on television, but also must be able to speak without using a script and still sound cohesive. The candidate should describe their experience ad libbing and how they could fill in during an emergency.
