I would like to rephrase this question to Why Do You Want to Leave your Current Role?
I know I will have to tweak my answer in different roles but I believe this is a good response. I’ve enjoyed my receptionist role at ______ for the past 3.5 years there. However, I think to continue challenging myself and grow in my career it’s time for a change. For example, I would love to take on more responsibilities such as this job opportunity offers. I would love to type business correspondence and expand my knowledge of MS Excel spreadsheets. I also would like to generate financial and expense reports and assist office staff with various projects. In my current role, there isn’t a need for these responsibilities and I would really love to broaden my skill set and grow in a new role. This is why I’m willing to leave my current role at ______.
