About Ventilation Technician

Ventilation technicians have extensive knowledge of cooling and heating equipment that is used in residences as well as offices and commercial buildings. They are responsible for installing new units as well as performing regular maintenance and repair work of installed units.
You do not need a degree to become a ventilation technician but you would definitely benefit from completing a certificate program or obtaining an associate degree. Doing an apprenticeship will help you acquire the skills necessary to do this job independently.

These days the emphasis is on green practices in all aspects including ventilation systems. Most employers will ask you whether you are familiar with implementing green practices. They will also want to know if you can work independently to install, maintain and repair heating and cooling units.
