Advice and answer examples written specifically for an University Administrator job interview.
5. How would your current or former employer describe you?
How to Prep
Asking a candidate how others would describe them is a great way to learn about a candidate and test their ability to provide authentic responses. To prepare, make a quick list of words you feel represent how your manager would describe you. If you're unsure, it can be helpful to ask your manager or a coworker to provide perspective and validate your list. It can also be helpful to make a similar list to note how your coworkers, teammates, and customers would describe you to prepare for other common variations of this question.

Answer Example
"I believe that my former employer would say that I am a hard worker, dedicated, and willing to go the extra mile. I think they would say that I am a team player and happy to get involved in whatever needs to be achieved. We have also discussed that I find it difficult to say no which means I can have too much going on sometimes but I am a good communicator and keep my manager up to date with everything that is going on"
