Treasury assistants help senior financial managers to help organizations meet their financial goals. These professionals are typically employed by large corporations and government agencies. The exact tasks of a treasury assistant may vary widely depending on the type and size of the company they are employed by. In general, they prepare written reports and statements, schedule meetings, create presentations, update protocol manuals, and handle assorted administrative work related to the company's financial matters.
A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business management, or a related field is the minimum requirement to get hired as a treasury assistant with an established firm. Treasury assistants must be extremely organized and have a flair for numbers and accounting. The tasks are largely clerical in nature.
