Why the Interviewer Asks This Question
Surgical technologists assist with a wide range of surgeries, including but not limited to general surgery, orthopedic surgery, gynecological surgery, neurosurgery, cardiovascular surgery, and plastic surgery. They play a critical role in the operating room by preparing the surgical environment, arranging and passing surgical instruments to surgeons and nurses, and ensuring that all equipment is functioning properly.
The interviewer is interested in your surgical experience to gain insight into your experience and skill level with various surgeries. Walk through your resume with the interviewer and expand on your experience. Be brief while making sure you cover all areas of surgeries you are familiar with.
