Models promote various all types of products live, on video or in print. Depending on the product they are promoting as well as the company's budget, they may promote the same product via multiple streams or just one stream. Clothes models usually do live shows where they walk down the ramp in designers' clothes so prospective buyers can get a closer look at the garments. Print models promote a wide range of products, from makeup and shoes to cars and household items.

There are no formal education requirements for anyone wishing to pursue a career in modeling. Other requirements in terms of physical characteristics may vary from one client to another depending on the industry and the product they wish to promote. In general, models are expected to take great care of their appearance. They must be well groomed, photogenic, disciplined, courteous and organized. They must know how to dress well and apply makeup that enhances their features. They must workout regularly to stay in shape and learn how to move gracefully and confidently in public.

Being a model is a glamorous job with a lot of perks but it requires hard work and dedication to stay in the limelight. Models work hard behind the scenes to achieve that effortlessly elegant look that the world sees. At the interview, the interviewers will be watching your every movement, from the time you walk into the interview room so make sure you put your best foot forward. Take great care when dressing for the interview. Be graceful throughout. Carry along a portfolio of the work you've done.
