About Laboratory Tester

Laboratory testers have the knowledge and skills required to inspect, maintain and operate various laboratory equipment. They are also known as science technicians. Laboratory testers work in laboratories run by several different types of institutions, agencies, and businesses.Their main role in these organizations is to improve product safety and develop working solutions to scientific problems.

The path to becoming a laboratory tester starts with earning a bachelor's or associate's degree in laboratory science, the natural sciences, applied science or related fields. On the job training is important in order to grasp practical protocol related to operating and maintaining laboratory equipment. This can be acquired through an extensive internship. Laboratory Tester must have a keen eye for detail along with strong analytical skills and excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Continued education is essential in order to stay up to date on the latest computer software and hardware, particularly technology that is relevant to the industry they are working in.

The interviewer will focus on your knowledge and experience as a laboratory tester. Tell the interviewer if you have had experience in their particular industry. Highlight your ability to handle all the laboratory testing tasks independently. Show your confidence in your knowledge and skills. They may also present different scenarios and ask you how you would handle them.
