Begin by telling the interviewer about any direct work, volunteer, or internship experience that you have such as sales, fundraising, or marketing. Be sure to include where you worked in these capacities, your specific role, and how long you worked there. Next, think outside of the box about your experience! Selling ideas, building relationships, and planning special events are all relevant skills and experiences that will show the interviewer that you are prepared for a fundraising role.

"Since I will be graduating from college in two months, I have yet to secure employment in the nonprofit field. However, I volunteered with my local animal shelter twice a week for the past four years.
