The interviewer wants to know that you are passionate about the organization's mission, vision, and values. You also need to learn information about the organization's programs. Most organizations make this information available on their website.

Absolutely! Explain why you are passionate about the organization's specific mission. Perhaps a major life event triggered your desire to make a difference in this area, or maybe you were motivated by the challenging circumstances of a family or friend. Perhaps you have personally benefitted from services similar to those offered by this organization, and you want to pay it forward. Whatever your motivation, now is the time to share it!

"When I was a child, my mother and I moved to a domestic violence shelter because of abuse we experienced from my biological father. This organization provided shelter, food, clothes, and resources for permanent housing and employment for my mother. If organizations like that didn't exist, my mother and I might never have been able to start a new life filled with hope instead of fear. As a result, I truly connected to your organization's mission to support the independence of women who feel stuck in a cycle of domestic violence.
