Concise and well said. Good response! Now take it a little further by listing off some of your favorite books or author within that genre, and posed the question to your interviewer in turn to strike up a more conversational tone.
"I mostly read fantasy. I like getting lost in new worlds. I love Tad Williams and the Dragon Bone Chair series. Also, I’m a big fan of Margaret Wiess and Tracy Hickman. Everything they write is gold in my opinion. I’ve recently started broadening my horizons into other genres, such as Scottish Highlands Romance novels. But what about you? What are your favorite genres? Any recommendations?"
