Bacteriology technicians provide technical support to biological and medical scientists, engineers and other professionals in the fields of microbiology, agriculture, animal and plant biology, environment protection, molecular biology, health sciences and resource management. As a Bacteriology Technician you conduct laboratory tests and experiments, keep detailed logs of all activities, install, maintain and calibrate laboratory and field equipment, conduct standardized biological, biochemical and microbiological tests and analyze experimental data.

A Bacteriology Technician must complete a 2 or 3 year degree program in biochemical or chemical engineering technology. Excellent analytical skills are an essential requirement for this role. You spend long hours in a laboratory conducting research, analyzing results and logging every aspect of the research they've conducted.
