Automotive body and glass repairers have the specialist knowledge and skills required to repair the framework, body, window glass and windshields of vehicles. An automotive body and glass repairer's job extends to more than just the repair work. They carry out inspections to identify problem areas, removed damaged parts, realign the chassis and frames, repair body damage and install, weatherproof or repair windows and windshields.
Completing a relevant program from a technical school will help you learn the theoretical aspects of the job. An apprenticeship will take up where the theoretical learning left off. Most employers will only hire an applicant who has had extensive practical experience as an apprentice. This is a physically demanding job so you must have the necessary physical strength and stamina to handle the rigors of the job. Good mechanical skills and excellent manual dexterity are essential attributes.
