The auto parts industry is a thriving one as all vehicles experience some amount of wear and tear with time and owner's find it cheaper to replace the worn out parts rather than buy a brand new vehicle. Auto parts managers play a key role in vehicle dealerships and service centers, both of which typically require a regular supply of replacement parts. In addition to ensuring that they have the right auto parts in stock, auto parts manager also market parts to customers.
A high school diploma is the minimum educational qualification required for this role. More important than the education, auto parts managers must have extensive product knowledge, solid inventory management experience and excellent sales and customer service skills. Completing an apprenticeship in an auto parts sales or repair setting will help you get a better understanding of the requirements of this role.
