      "Both broadcast and collision domains refer to the networking functionality associated with Lotus Notes. The broadcast domain is the nodes on the network that can be reached without using a router or other switching device. This type of domain is limited to a specific IP subnetwork. It is easily identified by having 255 at the end of its IP addresses. A collision domain refers to the devices where packet collisions occur. These devices can be spread across several IP subnetworks. Collisions occur due to data being broadcast across a single connection, which can include the cable, repeater or hub."
