Advertising sales agents are responsible for selling advertising space to businesses of all sizes and also to individuals. These professionals are also known as advertising executives. They work in diverse industries including radio, television, advertising agencies and digital publishing. As part of their job, advertising sales agents get in touch with potential clients and inform them about the options available for advertising their products and services and the benefits of doing so.
A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, advertising or a related field is the minimum educational qualification required to become an advertising sales agent. An internship under the guidance of an experienced professional will help you learn the practical aspects of the job and also give you valuable work experience that will boost your chances of getting a job. Advertising sales agents must be highly creative go-getters. Excellent communication, time-management, and customer service skills are essential attributes in this role.
