Actuarial associates are finance experts who specialize in creating customized risk assessment profiles for companies and individual clients. As part of their job, these risk assessment specialists manage investment portfolios, write insurance policies, and recommend retirement plans. Their main objective is to help their clients minimize potential risk.
A bachelor's degree in finance, statistics, business, mathematics or a related field is the minimum educational qualification required to work in this role. In addition, you will have to pass a series of exams in order to qualify for the designation of an actuarial associate. This role requires knowledge of how to use statistical and spreadsheet computer software programs. Risk assessment, analytical, problem-solving and communication skills are essential attributes in this role.
At your interview, the interviewer will ask you why you chose to pursue this particular career path. They will also ask you about your strengths as they pertain to this role and if you think you have what it takes. Many times, interviewers also ask candidates about their weaknesses and what they plan on doing to strengthen their weak areas. Answering correctly and confidently is the key to a successful interview. At Mock Questions, you will find valuable help with brainstorming answers to questions that interviewers typically ask applicants at actuarial associate interviews.
