"Last year, I received a low grade on a chemistry project. When I approached my professor about the low grade, he said, 'You can do better. I expected more from you.' I was taken aback at first, but once I had time to absorb what was said, I realized that he expected more from me because he had high expectations of what I could do. It was a compliment and a challenge; all rolled into one! I re-did the assignment with more enthusiasm and passion the second time around. My grade improved significantly, and I thanked my professor for holding me to a higher standard."

The interviewers want to see that you are confident and mature enough to accept feedback and criticism positively, even when it is unsolicited. Not all feedback will be delivered in a friendly, easy-to-absorb manner. Think of a time when you received feedback or criticism that was a bit hurtful or surprising. Discuss how you reacted productively.

Tell a story that shows the interviewers how you could take the criticism and learn from it. Talk about how you successfully implemented changes in response to the feedback and how you welcome feedback so you can improve or know that you are on the right track.

"After my first presentation of a scholarly research article in a presentation course, my professor wrote feedback that I needed improvement. At first, I was dismayed, but I met with him during his office hours to see where I could improve. Over the next several visits, I learned how to better organize my presentation, what content to include, and received help interpreting data. My next presentation went more smoothly and I was able to confidently answer questions about the paper. I credit my professor for helping me improve my presentations, which helped me during my thesis defense."

Which medical-related newspapers, journals, or publications do you read to stay in touch with new medical discoveries and current events?

"I am sure to read PLOS Magazine and The Lancet regularly. I also subscribe to Kaiser Health News and The Wall Street Journal Health Blog. Diversifying where my news comes from is important, and I would love some fresh suggestions. What are your favorite places for news on current trends?"

The interviewers want to see that you have a keen interest in continually learning your craft. The medical industry is ever-changing! Talk about how you stay up to date on industry trends, breakthroughs, social concerns, and more.

List a few medical journals you like to read and discuss how often you dive into medical-related news. Perhaps you subscribe to a particular magazine, blog, or follow certain social media accounts. It's also a great idea to ask the interviewers about their favorite ways to stay in touch on medical-related current events. Asking this question in return can make for great dialogue, and you never know what you will learn!

"I am sure to read PLOS ONE and Biomed Central to regularly keep up with scientific advancements. Also, I read from Popular Science and the USA Today health news. I am open to suggestions. What are your favorite news sources for current events?"

A woman comes into the ER after a car accident. She needs a blood transfusion but states that her religion is against blood transfusions. What decision do you make?

"From what I understand, if the patient is of sound mind and they understand the risk they are taking by refusing medical assistance, I do not have the right to override her religious choice. Many factors could change this, such as an unconscious patient, someone under the influence of a narcotic, or perhaps if the person and I had a significant language barrier. I should refer to my facilities' leaders and ethics community in these situations. This is a decision I would not feel comfortable making entirely on my own."

This is a loaded question, indeed! The interviewers would like to know if you are ready to face tough decisions while maintaining the integrity and code of ethics expected of you as a physician. Patients have the right to choose what they want for their bodies. It is not up to you as a physician to do anything that violates a patient's rights. However, you do want to express that as a physician, you would inform the patient what could happen if she refuses a blood transfusion.

You may not be able to answer this question entirely correctly as there are many policies and legal requirements that you may not even know about. Answer to the best of your ability by displaying that you would make the soundest choice possible while maintaining the patient's integrity.

"If the woman is of sound mind and judgement, I do not have the right to override her choice. However, if she were unconscious, under the influence of a narcotic, or had a significant language barrier, the situation would be more complicated. In those cases, I would need to consult my superiors or the ethics committee to navigate the challenging situation to make an informed decision."

As a future physician, how do you plan to use your role to benefit members of your community? Do you think volunteering is important?

"Bettering my community is going to be a big part of what I do as a physician. I already spend much of my time volunteering at the local children's hospital, and I plan to continue my volunteer work after medical school. One specific way I will help my community members is by holding free workshops every month. The workshops will tackle tough issues that the community is facing, such as narcotics abuse and increased teen suicide rates."

The interviewers want to know that you see the importance of community involvement. As a physician, your knowledge and help will be greatly needed and appreciated by your community. Show that you are willing to be generous with your time and knowledge.

The interview panel wants to hear that you think volunteering is important. Volunteers have compassion, empathy, and generosity, all excellent qualities to possess as a physician. Here are some ideas of how a physician can benefit their community: - Teach your community about the health resources available to them - Offer free or reduced-fee services to low-income families - Hold free workshops on topics such as sexual health or addiction - Volunteer regularly and be an advocate for volunteering

"As a physician, it would be my duty to serve and better my community. I would volunteer my time in clinics that treat the underserved populations and hold free monthly workshops to address chronic conditions, such as diabetes and heart diseases, and ways to manage them. I believe volunteering is important because it is meaningful, uplifting, and makes my community better."

Should medical students who receive federal funds spend time practicing medicine in a less desired area to give something in return?

"I believe that, because there is such a huge shortage of physicians in rural areas, students receiving federal assistance should do their part by practicing in these areas for a certain amount of time. I understand that this may seem unfair; however, there could be exceptions for certain rarer specialties or medical students with exceptional grades, for example."

When a medical student receives federal assistance through loans or grants, some may see it as an unfair advantage to have the first pick of where they practice after completing medical school. On the other hand, some people don't care...so long as the best talent is being put to good use. You can share your thoughts on this with the interviewers but remain positive and show your ability to see both sides of the coin.

You do not know the interview panel's views on this topic, so you want to tread lightly to avoid offending anyone. However, you are entitled to your opinion. Give your honest opinion without steering too heavily one way or the other.

"Due to the physician shortage, which significantly affects rural areas, I believe medical students should spend some time practicing in these underserved areas. However, it should not be required. Some students who pursue highly specialized fields should be able to make their own decisions about making an impact."

How do you express your opinions on controversial topics such as abortion, euthanasia, physician-assisted suicide, and cloning?

"When it comes to controversial topics such as abortion, euthanasia, physician-assisted suicide, and cloning, I will certainly give my opinions more freely in a social setting with friends versus a workplace setting or around patients. If at work, I would try to keep my personal opinion to myself or at the very least remain diplomatic by expressing how each side has their right to an opinion."

Questions like this can be tricky! Be sure to note the wording of the question. The interviewers want to see how you navigate controversial topics. They are not asking for your opinion on these topics. Discuss how you remain tactful when controversial topics arise.

For this question, it is best to show the interview panel you understand what topics are appropriate to talk about with friends, family, and colleagues and which subjects you do not discuss with patients. The interview panel wants to see that you know to be diplomatic and professional in the workplace.

"I believe the appropriate time to express my opinions about controversial topics, such as abortion, euthanasia, physician-assisted suicide, and cloning, is in a private or personal setting with friends or family. However, in a workplace setting or around patients, I would rather keep those personal opinions to myself."

What is your opinion on socialized health care versus privatized health care?

"I believe that the basic concepts of socialized health care and privatized health care are good by nature and speak to a range of patients. Some of my peers have expressed their love for socialized health care because, although they pay a higher tax rate, they are not caught in an expensive whirlwind when they face illness. On the other hand, privatized health care can offer significantly shorter wait times, which is very important for those with a potentially critical or debilitating illness. I believe it is important to have both options so people can choose."

This question is meant to start a meaningful conversation between yourself and the interview panel. They want to see a bit of your personal opinion, critical thinking skills, and ability to be diplomatic when it comes to hot topics. Avoid any offensive answers. It's best if you can provide a diplomatic answer that gives the nod to both sides without appearing wishy-washy.

Think about your views on socialized and privatized health care. Then, share the pros and cons of both with the interview panel.

"Both socialized health care and privatized health care have their merits. Socialized health care can protect individuals from major unexpected medical bills as well as provide coverage and treatment for preexisting conditions, which may be difficult under privatized health care. However, privatized health care can provide shorter wait times for critical conditions and provide more choices."

How would you react if you discovered a classmate cheating?

"I believe an honorable person will do what is right even when nobody is looking. The medical industry deserves only honorable graduates. For that reason, I would tell a superior if I found a classmate cheating."

This honesty-based question is meant to test your character and reveal how you deal with awkward or uncomfortable situations. If you have found yourself in a case like this, you can draw on that story for your reply. Be careful not to name any names or throw anyone under the bus, as you can rarely recover from unsavory behavior like that in an interview.

There is only one way to respond to this question. Physicians are held to a high standard and must always act with honesty and integrity. If you would not report your classmate, the interview panel will determine you do not possess those qualities.

"Professionals should conduct themselves with integrity. Physicians and other professionals are held to a high standard, and patients deserve nothing less. For that reason, I would notify a superior if I found a classmate was cheating."

How does your family feel about you attending medical school? Do you have a great deal of support?

"My family is incredibly proud of me for attending medical school. My father is especially keen as he also graduated from Texas Tech University. My parents and my older brother live in the area so that I will have a powerful and encouraging support system should I be accepted into Texas Tech University."

The interviewers want to know that if you were accepted into Texas Tech University, you would have the support required for your heavy and challenging medical school workload. Discuss your support system and how your family and friends express their excitement for your career. You can also mention anyone in your family who may have had a similar path in the medical industry.

If you do not have family who supports your decision, describe how they are unsupportive, but others support you. Hopefully, you will have a robust support system to draw from.

"My family is very supportive of me attending medical school. My father, a pharmacist who has a pharmacy and works in the hospital, is proud of my willingness to serve others. With his many years of healthcare experience, I can go to him for valuable insight and support."

What are your thoughts on animal research and animal testing in the medical field?

"Although I support animal rights, I understand that animal testing and research are still required for pharmaceutical testing and many other research platforms. For instance, in the U.S., it is the law for a pharma company to test on animals before a drug is distributed for human consumption. Will this change down the road? Yes, I believe that it will. We have seen technology take us so far in terms of simulations and more, and I feel encouraged that we will not lean on animal testing in research forever."

The interviewers would like to know your stance on the controversial subject of animal testing and the use of animals for educational purposes. In many regions, animals are still a common learning modality for medical students. Breakthroughs and cures are found regularly, often through animal testing and research procedures. However, with technology changing rapidly, incredible leaps are being made to replace the use of animals in medical research.

Formulate an answer that is honest and true to your feelings while showing your understanding of why the use of animals takes place in medical research. Learning and research tools are ever-changing, so mention the progress you have seen through simulations and more.

"While I support animal rights, I understand that animal research and animal testing are necessary to test new pharmaceuticals and learn about disorders. It is required for pharmaceutical companies or scientists to determine efficacy and safety in animal models before testing treatments in humans. Although advancements are coming rapidly, it would be hard to mimic a biological organism with its complex system of many different types of cells, which are needed in biomedical research."

As a physician, you will be faced with death often. How will you professionally cope with this reality?

"I recently read a paper by Dr. Lea Baider and Dr. Simon Wein on the realities of physicians facing death regularly. The paper suggested that successful physicians dealing with death at appropriate times do so by compartmentalizing their day's events. The paper said that if a physician is to split the mechanics of the problem from the emotional side, the physician can continue to function without the emotions getting in the way. This is an excellent recommendation, but it is also important to choose an appropriate time to address those emotions. This would perhaps mean having a mentor or counselor I could visit regularly. Also, not internalizing a death or blaming myself for the event."

The interviewers want to know that you understand that dealing with death and critical illness is a workplace reality for a physician. Assure the interviewers that you can handle this harsh reality that physicians face.

If you have experienced death, describe how you coped with it. Let the interview panel know that you understand death is part of the job, and you are prepared to handle death and dying patients.

"Volunteering in hospice care exposed me to the harsh reality of death when the patients I visited would pass away. However, I took relief in the fact that my visits comforted them and made them happy. Seeing a smile on a patient's face was enough satisfaction. When I attended a memorial service for a patient I visited at a memory care facility, I saw the impact the patient's death had on family and friends. Knowing that treating a patient can affect the individual and the community around him or her will motivate me to give the best care that I can, regardless of tough circumstances."

Who in your life mentors or inspires you?

"I find inspiration in a variety of people and things. I would have to say that the person who has most greatly inspired me has been my grandmother. She always had a smile, no matter how hard she worked, and she loved everyone. She was well respected and always gave more than she received. I try to live like her as much as I can."

Your life's inspiration can come from a mentor, your family, a celebrity, an author - literally anyone! Talk to the interviewers about who has inspired your life and why.

Using a person who will not be controversial with the interviewers is best. For example, you want to avoid using political or religious figures as the interview panel may have different views and beliefs.

"I have been inspired by many people and things, but my late grandfather showed me the importance of treating everyone with kindness and respect. He conducted himself with integrity, honesty, and tried to help people as much as he could, which showed by the many people I saw at his funeral service. I try to follow his example in my life."

Are there any situations when a physician is justified in lying to a patient?

"I understand that the only reason a physician should withhold information from a patient is under the premise of therapeutic privilege. This concept describes situations where a patient could be a threat to themselves if the physician fully disclosed the details of their medical situation. This is generally referring to the patient being a psychological threat to themselves. Although there is support for this idea, I do not feel it should be exercised unless extreme cases exist. Physicians have a fiduciary duty to their patients, which must be taken seriously."

With this question, the interviewers are questioning your knowledge, character, and ethics at the same time. Prepare a well-versed answer for this question, as it may arise many times during medical school and your career. Research the concept of 'therapeutic privilege' and then create your response. Your answer should be brief, precise, and not convoluted.

However you respond to this question, be sure to justify your reason for choosing your answer. The interview panel wants to hear your thought process on why you think it is okay or not okay to lie to a patient.

"I feel that a physician can withhold information only in exceptional cases where there is clear information that telling a patient all the details could cause a threat to the patient. I would weigh all the information in a patient's case, including a history of mental health issues, in order to determine whether to withhold information. However, sometimes the case may be hard to judge. Whatever my decision, I will hold myself to the standard of "First, do no harm."

How well do you think you performed in this interview today?

"Thank you for taking the time to meet with me today. I feel that I was well prepared for the questions you asked, and I am happy with my performance in this interview. Can I ask if there is anything I can clarify for you or elaborate on from today's conversation?"

This question is a stress test! The interviewers want to know if you are happy with your performance in the interview. There is always room for improvement; however, you want to avoid picking your interview apart. Respond honestly with how you believe you have performed.

If you feel you could have performed better: 'I feel that I was well prepared for most of the questions you have asked me today; however, I would like to clarify my answer on one particular point....' Then, return to the question you may have stumbled on and answer how you would have liked the first time.If you feel the interview went well: 'Thank you for taking the time to meet with me today. I feel that I was well prepared for the questions you asked me, and I am happy with my performance in this interview.' Then, you could ask them if there is anything you can clarify from your CV, application, or conversation.

"I think I performed relatively well in the interview, but I feel I should clarify (ethical question, explaining my research, relatively low undergraduate GPA, etc...)."

When you suffer a setback, how does that emotionally affect you and your work?

"Experiencing a setback is always disappointing and can be very disheartening, especially when involving a project that I have put a lot of time and effort into. I understand that setbacks happen to everyone - despite their level of expertise or years of experience. If I experience a major setback, I will take a few moments to debrief internally, get some fresh air if possible, or discuss what I could have done differently with a mentor. Then, I move on. Rather than dwell on my mistakes, I choose to learn from them."

Everyone handles the stress and disappointment of setbacks differently. When you work in the medical field, those setbacks can be amplified. While attending university, even more so because your grades can significantly determine your future career's success. Discuss with the interviewers how you typically cope with setbacks.

The interview panel wants to see that you are resilient and do not let setbacks derail you from achieving your goals. If you have an example of a setback, share that in your response, showing the interview panel that you bounced back and moved on.

"A setback is disappointing and can be depressing. However, I try not to dwell on my mistakes. I take time to recognize the mistake I made and try to change it. For instance, the study method I was using in undergraduate was not working for me. I decided to adjust in my studying during my master's to include more active forms of understanding, such as discussing with my peers or with my professor, which has helped me gain better comprehension."

How would you like to see the delivery of healthcare evolve?

"I would like to see health-based organizations and facilities put more effort into putting their patients at the center of everything they do. This could mean cutting down wait times, improving hospitals' safety, and even engaging with the community more often so there is a greater level of trust and comfortability. I believe that we are evolving fast, and I am happy to see how far this patient-centered attitude has come since I started my educational path within medicine."

The interviewers want to understand where you feel healthcare could most evolve. Perhaps you feel that healthcare can best evolve through more patient-focused care. Maybe you think care coordination and synergy within the administration is the fastest way to improve healthcare. Whatever your answer, be sure to maintain a hopeful stance and complete your answer by describing how you feel healthcare is currently evolving.

There is no wrong answer to this question. The interview panel wants to see your personal views on the evolution and advancements of healthcare and what changes you would like to see made.

"The rapid genetic advancements made make me excited about a future with individualized care. For instance, immunotherapies have increased the likelihood of surviving cancers, such as lung cancer. Also, knowing the genetic basis of a disease, such as where a mutation occurs, can allow the development of treatment. Even recently, due to advancements, the COVID-19 vaccine was created in record time, only 1 year, whereas it would have taken several years in the past. I am hopeful to see more personalized care in the future."

What are your thoughts on alternative medicine? Which aspects do you agree and disagree with?

"Although I am a supporter of traditional medicine, I do understand that alternative medicine can offer great benefits for some. I agree that there is a science behind alternative medicine; however, alternative medicine should be more strictly regulated. People need to educate themselves better before jumping into 'all-natural' therapy. Prescribed teas and herbs can be dangerous if taken in the wrong dosages. Even though it is natural, it doesn't mean your body will like it. As with all medicine and practices, research and education are very important."

Alternative medicine can be a controversial subject. Some healthcare professionals love it, some are highly skeptical, and some people's opinions land in the middle. Try to remain neutral when answering this question, explaining what aspects you agree and disagree with.

Just like you would answer a sensitive question surrounding politics or religion, it's best to support both sides in some aspect when delivering your response. If you plan to voice a highly one-sided opinion, be prepared to give substantial evidence-based thoughts supporting your viewpoint.

"Although I agree that the whole-person approach (mind, body, and spirit) in alternative medicine can be helpful, I support the evidence-based treatments used in traditional medicine. Many of the supplements on the market that state that they treat conditions are unverified. They have not been tested in a clinical study to see if they are safe and effective. Treatments have to be proven in the scientific literature before I would recommend them to my patients."

When you become a physician, how will you improve the profession?

"I have chosen to become a physician because of the broad impact I can make on my patients, their families, and my community as a whole. Being a General Practitioner is a career where I can impact others by getting to know my patients more closely than many other specialists and providers can. As a GP, I will improve the profession by bringing a whole-health knowledge and mindset to my patients. When my patients feel motivated and empowered to take their health into their hands, it will trickle down to other aspects of their lives, including their family members' well-being. This ripple will help create greater respect for general health care, improving how the public views our profession and how often patients visit their GP for regular checkups."

The interviewers want to see evidence that you plan on making a positive and lasting impact on the medical profession. To provide a memorable response, be as specific as possible. Perhaps you desire to work with a particular population or community. Maybe your vow as a physician is to teach your patients that being diligent about a specific aspect of their health leaves a positive impact on their overall health. Discuss with passion and enthusiasm how you plan to improve the medical profession and use your skills for the greater good.

When responding to this question, describe how you will improve the profession without speaking negatively of the profession as it is. Many excellent physicians have enhanced the profession, so you want to avoid talking poorly about the medical industry.

"As a physician, I plan to improve the profession by sharing my experience and learning from my colleagues through conferences. I will also keep up with clinical advancements so that I can deliver the best care possible. I want to develop a trusted relationship with my patients to discuss their conditions openly and honestly. I believe it is best to share my knowledge as a physician to make the community better."

When you encounter academic difficulty, how do you react?

"When I have encountered academic difficulty in the past, I have recognized the issue early and approached my professor for additional information or study resources. With these resources, I will either increase the time spent reviewing the class material or engage another person to increase my understanding of the topic. For instance, during my biophysical chemistry class this year, I fell behind as we approached the subject of molecular interactions. To ensure my success, I hired a Department of Chemistry tutor. This approach was beneficial, and I gained a much clearer understanding of the subject, which greatly helped my grade. I will not hesitate to seek outside assistance if I encounter any difficulties while attending medical school."

Every medical student will encounter academic challenges, so it's important to know that you are not alone when facing difficulties. The interviewers want to know that you will handle these difficulties with as much emotional intelligence and poise as possible. Perhaps you reach out to other students when you encounter difficulties in your academic studies. Maybe you have additional conversations with your professors, or perhaps you engage a tutor to help you better understand the material. Discuss your approach and how it has benefitted you in the past.

The interview panel understands that medical school will be challenging. They want to choose students who do not break down and quit when faced with challenges but rather learn from their experience and adjust their studying habits.

"In the past, when I encountered academic struggles, I would try to figure them out on my own. However, over time, I have found that when I need help, I should seek it out, either by asking the professor or consulting my peers. Discussing the material with others made the subject more engaging and helped me better understand the subject. Studying with my peers has allowed me to study consistently, and I will continue to work with my peers in medical school to solve problems."

Walk us through your approach to studying for exams.

"I am a well-organized student and have devised a plan that works well for me. When I prepare for a specific exam, I will map out the content I need to learn and divide that content over the number of days I have available to prepare. When I create a study calendar, I leave the final three days leading up to the exam to review the entire library of content. I am a big fan of study aids, as I believe they work much better than simply reading and re-reading the materials. Aids such as flashcards are also much more helpful to me than highlighting my notes. I also create practice problems and, when possible, will pair up with a fellow student to test each other in written form or verbal lightning rounds. My approach has been successful, as reflected in my overall GPA."

The greater your academic performance, the better the university's metrics will be. For this reason, the interviewers want to choose medical school students who will be diligent in their studies and perform well on exams. Perhaps you create your own study aids. Maybe you prefer to prepare for exams in a group setting. Whatever your approach might be, take the time to walk the interviewers through your process with as much detail as possible.

Focus on being incredibly detailed in your response. The interview panel wants to see that you have a systematic study approach that has proven effective.

"During my undergraduate studies, I would read the subject matter and the textbook to prepare for exams, which would not help for long term comprehension. However, during my graduate studies, I have interacted more with professors and peers to gain understanding. These interactions have helped me develop a more dynamic understanding of the material. I know I mastered the material when I could explain it to a peer, and he understood."

If you could meet anyone in the history of medicine, who would you choose and why?

"If I could meet anyone in the history of medicine, I would go back to the very beginning and meet Hippocrates. I find it fascinating that he was the first person ever to believe that disease and death were not a result of the anger of gods. I would ask him what that first conversation sounded like when he first told others that superstitious beliefs do not cause disease. He would have had to have faced so many roadblocks, yet, he continued to believe in his work."

This is more of a personal interest question, making it tough to give a wrong answer. Think back to any of medicine's founding fathers (and mothers!). Think of who has a story that resonates with you the most and what that person overcame. Also, think about what they discovered/created/invented that you admire.

After explaining who you would like to meet and why, it's also a great idea to think of the most burning question you would have for that individual. Be sure to add passion to your answer so the interviewers can sense your genuine interest.

"If I had to meet anyone in the history of medicine, I would want to meet Edward Jenner, the physician who developed the smallpox vaccine. Before this vaccine, millions of people died from smallpox. I would ask him how bad the smallpox epidemic was during that time. Vaccines have a far reaching effect; they protect the community, as well as the individual."

It is important that Texas Tech University exercises great discernment when choosing applicants. What is your plan if you are not accepted into medical school this year?

"Should I not be accepted into medical school the first time, I plan to reapply the following year. I would take that year to upgrade any required courses and prepare an even stronger application. My life's goal is to become a physician, and I certainly won't take one rejection as a final answer."

The interviewers want to know that you have thought out all options and scenarios if you are not accepted to Texas Tech University. The way you answer this question will also show the interviewers that your interest in the medical field goes deeper than your acceptance into medical school.

If you are not accepted, show the interviewers that one rejection won't stop you at all! Talk about your plan to reapply while bolstering your application if rejected. Whatever the path you choose, you must show the interviewers you have confidence and drive. It'll take more than one rejection to keep you down!

"If I am not accepted into medical school this year, I will reapply next year and work towards bolstering my application, including tutoring individuals or attaining a research position. I am committed to the medical field and can envision guiding and leading others to their health goals."

In your opinion, what is the most concerning issue facing the medical industry today?

"I feel the most concerning issue in the medical industry is the continual rise of drug prices. The best medications should be accessible to anyone, regardless of financial or social status. There has been a rising concern with big pharma creating drugs and pricing them so high that they are unattainable to most. What do you feel are the most concerning issues facing the medical industry today?"

Being an aspiring medical student means that you should take a keen interest in current events by closely following the challenges the medical industry faces. The interviewers want to see that your interest is deep and that you spend time learning and understanding the challenges you will face in your future career as a physician.

"I have never been a queasy individual, and I fully understand the types of cases I will see in my career as a physician. I work part-time at our local drop-in shelter and have seen a wide range of situations involving blood and such. I don't think about the gore but more about the fact that it's a human who needs my help. I believe this mentality will get me through any gruesome or undesirable situation."
