"I determine which priorities require my attention by thinking about and writing down who the project or tasks impact. If the request comes from a higher-up in the organization and is urgent, that project is usually at the top of the list. I know that I will need to be able to adapt at VistaJet, and I am excellent at time management."

Tasks and projects with more components typically take longer, so I develop a plan to get them done within their timeframe. I like to juggle multiple things at a time and keep organized."

When have you had to shift your priorities in response to sudden changes?

"In my current role, I am frequently required to work overtime on the weekends to accommodate customer schedules. I have organized my personal life to adapt to these changes at a moment's notice to be a reliable employee. I thrive under change and welcome the challenge."

Working in the airline industry, you will be expected to stay on your toes at VistaJet. You will be responsible for shifting and adapting to certain situations, regardless of your position. Talk the interviewer through a time you had to respond quickly to sudden changes. Let the interviewer know you are comfortable responding and reacting positively in challenging situations.

"The airline industry is full of sudden changes - most frequently when flight times are changed. I know this may also happen at VistaJet, as we accommodate private schedules, and those may change suddenly. I am skilled at responding positively and swiftly to sudden changes."

Where do you see yourself five years from now?

"Ideally, five years from now, I would love to see myself growing into a more prominent leadership role within VistaJet's accounting department. I would love to get my feet wet in this role for several years and build my VistaJet knowledge and skills before aspiring to aim a little higher in the company. My career interests align very nicely with this role with VistaJet, and I can see a great long-term fit here."

I think this role can help me realize my dream of becoming an app support professional while working in my dream industry."

Tell me about a time communication became an issue when working on a team.

"I worked on a team to solve a problem that could have potential effects on our ability to grow the business and reach our goals. Each person on the team was tasked with a different aspect, such as gathering and analyzing data. We came together to discuss the results but couldn't seem to agree. We were struggling to listen to each person's opinion. I explained my observation and suggested we give each person a chance to discuss their findings and opinions, which helped us take a more collaborative approach."

There will be times at VistaJet when communication misses the mark. Working with a diverse group of people who have different outlooks and attitudes, there is bound to be a time when communication can be a challenge. Provide a scenario where communications became an issue; describe the situation and how you went above and beyond to solve the problem.

"In my last role as an Account Manager, there was a time when a customer's account was not properly credited with money that they paid us, which caused a huge issue with that customer. There were communication issues amongst the team, and that miscommunication caused a problem with the customer's account. To fix this, I gathered the team in a conference room to find the trail of what went wrong without pointing fingers at anyone. We were able to find what happened and get the customer squared away. If chosen for this role at VistaJet, I will bring these problem-solving skills to my team so we can continue to work together."

"I would rate my communication skills as a 9/10. I rate myself a 9 because I actively seek to communicate more effectively as a team member. I am not perfect, so there will be times when I fall short. However, I try to be active to clear up any miscommunication. I know communicating effectively will be important at VistaJet, especially as my role as an App Support Tech requires me to talk to many people."

I love that the company is committed to providing flexible membership solutions to all client needs."

How do you get along with others at work?

"I get along well with my coworkers. I try to maintain a positive attitude and be supportive. I know that working at VistaJet, I may work with a small group of people, and it will be super important to get along with everyone. I get along with others well and often try to help people if needed."

Assess past or current working relationships with your coworkers. Consider what you like about those relationships and what you value most when working with others. Working at VistaJet, you will have to work with a smaller group of people and often the same coworkers day in and day out. Communicate with the interviewer traits that are most important to you. "I put a lot of effort into my relationships with my coworkers. "I find that the best way to earn the trust of my coworkers is to follow through on what I promise them. If I promise to get a task done on my team at VistaJet, I will follow through. The efforts of the whole team are important, and I pull my weight and do not let my team down."

If you are familiar with VistaJet before your interview, you will likely know a little bit about their goals when it comes to customer service. Aside from your experience working in the airline industry, do you have experience in other customer-service-based roles?

"I started working as a server at a young age in a restaurant. From there, I moved into a restaurant management role and attended post-secondary education with a focus on Restaurant and Hotel management. Most of what I've done has been customer service-focused. I think this would be a great fit for Vistajet, namely as a Program Sales Consultant, as I would be building prospective business, and having this background would come in handy."

"I am new to my career, so this will be my first customer service-based role. "In my most recent position, I was often recognized for being flexible with my availability. I know these are important values to have at VistaJet, no matter the role. I believe in being 10 minutes early for work, staying on task during my shift, and getting my work done."

For many roles at VistaJet, they operate almost on a 24/7 cadence. That means they need to hire reliable individuals who are on time, accessible, and where they need to be. You will want to answer positively to this question and provide examples to the interviewer of how you are all those things.

"I am very dedicated to any role I take on and am happy to show that in this Frontend Engineer role with VistaJet. You will find that my teammates in my current role and my manager know me for being dependable and reliable."

As a Flight Attendant, you will be asked to work a wide range of hours and a lot of overtime. Are you able to accommodate the unpredictable schedule associated with being a Flight Attendant?

"In my most recent position with Airline XYZ, I had an inconsistent schedule that required me to often be on call. I worked many weekends and holidays. That is part of the lifestyle of a Flight Attendant, and I completely understand. I'm happy to work any hours offered to me. I know VistaJet is private and will often require me to work a similar schedule. It is not a problem."

Working a shifting schedule is very common in the airline industry - more so for flight attendants. VistaJet is a private airline and has a smaller staff than a traditional airline, so this will be true of their company. Assess how you feel about the shifting schedule, overtime, and weekend requirements. Tell the interviewer you can work that schedule and are happy to accommodate.

"I am available for a wide range of hours and overtime. I'm happy to do what is necessary for VistaJet and expect the shifting scheduling with the company being a private airline. I would be interested to know how far in advance the schedules come out so that if I need to make arrangements, I can do so."

In order to work for VistaJet, you are required to pass a criminal record check. Are you comfortable accommodating this?

"You will find that I have a clean criminal background. I have no problems with undergoing a background check."

A clean criminal record is a must for all roles at VistaJet. You must be able to pass the criminal background check, and the interviewer does not need an elaborate answer. Feel free to respond simply - yes, you can accommodate. If, for some reason, you have any concerns, let the interviewer know that yes, you can submit to a background check, but if there are any questions, you are happy to answer them. Take a proactive approach if you think something on your background will disqualify you from the role.

"I can complete a full criminal background check and any drug testing or other background checks you require."

What unique qualities would you bring to our company?

"I have a unique ability to strike up a conversation and build rapport with nearly anyone, which is a great help in customer service as a flight attendant. I do not shy away from conversation and think this would make each guest's experience positive and pleasant at VistaJet."

This question is an opportunity to let the interviewer know of any qualities that cannot be shared on your resume. Stick to work-related skills that you think would be an asset to the role you are applying for and VistaJet as a company overall. It is tempting to talk about your personal life, and while that would be fine, interviewers look for other skills that could help you land the job instead of how many dogs you have.

"I see that your job description for your Lead Data and Analytics Product Manager requires strong SQL skills, experience with analytics and data, as well as Tableau. I have worked with SQL, data, and Tableau for the last six years in my current role as a Data Analyst and have also worked with other similar systems in previous roles. In addition to these job-related skills, I can bring resilience, dependability, and hard work to the role."

When asked to list your top skills, connect your skills to the requests listed in the company's job description. Look at VistaJet's career page to identify their job descriptions and what the company is looking for in your specific role. Prepare your answer based on the skills they are looking for, and explain how you have used these skills in past roles.

"After reviewing your job description for this Corporate Finance Associate role, I feel that three skills I can bring to the table would be excellent communication, resourcefulness when I don't understand something, and the ability to be flexible and accommodate changing situations."

Do you have any formal training in First Aid or CPR?

"I do not currently hold a valid CPR and First Aid certification; however, I am happy to complete this requirement right away. I know that VistaJet provides training, and I would be happy to be in the first class. If it's not provided, I am happy to pursue this on my own as needed."

First Aid and CPR training is a requirement for many roles at VistaJet. Let the interviewer know that you have current and valid CPR and First Aid certification and if it is expired or when you renewed it last. If you do not have certification, let VistaJet know that you are more than willing to get certified. You could also mention that you know they send a lot of their positions to be First Aid and CPR certified.

"Yes, I have formal training in First Aid and CPR. I have brought my certifications for you to see. I am also happy to keep my certifications up to date during my time at Vistajet."

Have you received training on handling an in-flight emergency?

"In my role with Bombardier, I received over 100 hours of in-flight situational training. I am confident in my ability to react professionally and appropriately in an emergency and can bring that experience as an important asset to VistaJet."

Education and training are critically important in in-flight emergencies, especially as you might be the only one on the VistaJet flight with the education and experience to assist a customer. Discuss your comfort level with your ability to handle these situations and provide the interviewer with a response. The key is to respond positively and show how you would professionally handle an emergency. If you are new to the industry and do not have the related training, be honest and comment on any other training you've completed that may be relevant or helpful.

"As I am new to a career in the airline industry, I have not received in-flight emergency training; however, I have taken emergency response training in my current position at the hospital as a nurse. With my nursing background, I am confident in emergencies. I am happy to take VistaJet's emergency response training, which I know will be more tailored to the airline industry, to learn more."

Tell me about any airline-related training you have been through.

"I have taken industry-related safety and customer service training with my previous company through IATA and enjoyed it. I had the opportunity to participate in many self-directed courses as well, and the knowledge I learned would transfer well to VistaJet."

Regardless of any industry-related training you have had, you will need to complete training specific to VistaJet. Namely, cabin hostesses are required to complete an industry-leading service excellence training program. This program includes WSET, food safety, hygiene, advanced plating, service etiquette, crew resource management, first aid, and firefighting, to name just a few. Talk with the interviewer about related pieces of training you have done as a flight attendant, or if you are not applying for a flight attendant role, you could talk about other training you've done, such as safety training, sales, customer service, or technical training.

"Although I have not taken specific airline-related training, I have some current certifications that I believe will be helpful. These include CPR, First Aid, and WHMIS training. As a cabin hostess at VistaJet, I know that having a CPR and First Aid background is extremely helpful in emergencies."

What experience do you have using team-based messaging applications?

"I have used numerous communication applications, including Slack, Microsoft Teams, Google Hangout, Zoom, and much more. I'd be interested to know what systems you use internally."

Think about and let the interviewer know the applications you have used. This would also be a great time to ask what internal communications systems they use at VistaJet so that you can tailor your answer. Tell them what software and applications you have experience in, ask them what they use, and assure them (even if you have not used that particular application before) that you are a fast learner and should have no problem learning their application.

"I'd be interested to know what team-based messaging applications VistaJet currently uses. I have experience using multiple systems such as Slack, Teams, Zoom, and Google Hangouts. Tell me more about the current applications you use, I am sure that a lot of the team-based applications I have experience with have similar features. If I haven't used it before, I am a fast learner and should have no problems picking it up."

Due to the nature of the airline industry, you may be required to complete training on a consistent basis. How do you feel about that?

"I feel good about attending ongoing training! I think it is a good opportunity to continue to learn, grow, and brush up on skills that I might not use often."

Continuous education at VistaJet will be critical for just about any role in the organization. Whether you are an accountant, in HR, or a Cabin Ground Trainer, you will be sent for continuing education opportunities. The interviewers want to know how you feel about those opportunities. Naturally, growth and development opportunities should be seen as a good thing, so respond positively. Let the interviewer know why you think continued growth is important.

"Continuing education is super important, and I would be grateful to VistaJet for sending me and providing me with growth, development, and training opportunities. There is always room for improvement and growth in everything we do."

What do you hope to gain most from your time with VistaJet?

"After reviewing the culture and mission of VistaJet, I find the training and education programs I would be exposed to exciting. I am a life-long learner and admire that the programs are industry renowned and that learning opportunities would be continuously available to me."

The interviewer would like to see that you are wholeheartedly interested in working for VistaJet. Think about the skills or experience you wish to gain from working in this specific role at VistaJet. Consider what opportunities would open for you, and explain what those are.

"What I hope to gain most by working with VistaJet is experience working with fleet strategy and airplane financing and refinancing in the private sector. "I have absolutely no problems adhering to a dress code. I quite like not having to choose what to wear every day. I also admire the professional look that uniforms provide to customers. I am happy to wear one at VistaJet."

In the airline industry, it is common to adhere to a strict dress code. At VistaJet, the uniform policy is no different than what you would experience with a commercial airline. However, as a private airline, VistaJet takes its approach one step further and wants to ensure that customers receive the best experience possible. Assure the interviewer that you are comfortable with adhering to a dress code. You can even tell the interviewer about your experience adhering to the dress code in a different position.

"Yes, I am comfortable adhering to a dress code. In my last role as a Customer Service Representative, we were required to wear khakis and a blue shirt every day. I like having uniforms, as it creates a great experience for our customers and helps identify us. I am happy to wear a uniform at VistaJet, as I know in the airline industry it is quite common."

How would you handle an upset customer during a flight?

"I have been a flight attendant for the last two years and have handled many upset customers during flights. The most recent example was a gentleman who kept putting his legs in the aisle. Other customers were getting upset, and so was he. He had a knee condition that made keeping his knee bent for three hours tough. To problem solve, I moved him to a seat near the front that allowed him more leg room to stretch out and kept him out of the aisle for the other customers."

This question can be tricky for some. It is tempting to respond with an answer that stops at responding well to upset customers. Focus on how well you handle this difficult situation, but make sure to include your steps to de-escalate a situation or how you solved a problem by asking information-gathering questions. The interviewer wants to see how you problem-solve and adapt in challenging situations.

"I have not worked as a flight attendant before; however, I have successfully handled a difficult customer. In my current role as a Client Services Associate, I have had to de-escalate a customer who was upset with the service he was provided. My first approach to the situation was to ask information-gathering questions to get down to the root of the problem and what had happened. Long story short, I was able to find the root of the problem and offer solutions that provided that customer with what he needed. He left happy."

What are your salary expectations?

"If you could help me understand what the salary range for the position looks like, I would be happy to provide you with a number that I think accurately reflects the knowledge, skills, and abilities I bring to the role."

A great way to approach this question is to know your desired total compensation. Think about the minimum number you would be willing to take, plus any bonus, stock options, and PTO you would like. Approaching this question with the interviewer with an inquisitive nature tends to work well. An example of being inquisitive could be asking what the salary range or budget range is for the position at VistaJet before you provide the number you are looking for. That ensures your desired compensation would be within the range that the position offers.

"I make $70,000 in my current role, with an 8% target bonus year over year. I would like to understand more about what has been budgeted for the role at VistaJet to help ensure my salary expectations align with what the role is paying."

The airline industry is full of unexpected scenarios. When have you faced an unexpected difficulty?

"The biggest difficulty I faced was when my manager in my last role resigned suddenly. I had to step in and step up to fulfill the manager's responsibilities until their successor could be found. It was unexpected and challenging, as I was not prepared to do two positions at the same time. I overcame this by excellent time management and working with my coworkers to understand how to prioritize different tasks to produce the necessary output."

Consider past situations that you have handled that have been unexpected and difficult. Working with a private airline such as VistaJet, you are bound to run into situations that require critical thinking and problem-solving. Talk the interviewer through a time when you have handled an unexpected and challenging situation; describe what it was and how you solved or overcame it.

"I face unexpected difficulty frequently in my current position. The customer service rating at my company was very low when I started. I took it upon myself to help increase the customer service rating to ensure that customers would return for repeat business. It was not easy, as I dealt with several customers who experienced bad customer service with us in the past. "In my current role, a new coworker had a hard time grasping new concepts and was frequently frustrated with his pace of learning. He took out his frustrations on his other coworkers, and it was starting to get a bit unsettling for the team. I took it upon myself to help him, as I know what it is like to try to learn something new and feel as though I don't have the support I need. I took him under my wing, asked him what he was having a hard time with, and came up with a plan to work with him and teach him what he needed to know. I helped him and filled in those gaps for him, and he was much easier to work with, not to mention happier."

You may not get along with everyone in your workplace. To be proactive, I scheduled an appointment to sit down with him and review the lessons and topics I was struggling with. After that meeting, I felt much better about the material and content. I was so glad that I was proactive in seeking help."
