1. Please describe our product to someone who has never seen it before.

It is not unusual to be presented with use cases and asked to resolve them during an interview for a product specialist position with Tesla. This is an example of this type of question. 2. How would you improve a product you use every day?

This is another form of a use case question. Use cases present you with scenarios and then ask you to resolve them. Most often, they involve issues or products relative to Tesla. However, sometimes the interviewer will ask you about something completely unrelated so they can better understand your general product specialist skills. 3. Two Tesla senior stakeholders disagree about the importance of including a feature in a new product. How would you get them to agree on whether or not to include it?

It is not uncommon for two senior product stakeholders to disagree about a new product's features, functions, or other characteristics. As a product specialist, you must resolve these conflicts and ensure that all the Tesla product stakeholders agree on what direction to move in. An interviewer at Tesla will ask this question to learn more about your definition of great customer service and your understanding of how this is achieved. By asking this question, they indicate that they either have a customer service issue that they hope you can help them resolve or that part of your job will be maintaining or improving the level of customer service they already provide. 7. Do you ever cut corners to get a product to market per the release schedule?

This is a tricky question. The Tesla interviewer is asking you to choose between cutting corners or releasing a product on the market late. By asking this question, the interviewer is trying to determine what your priorities are. The strategy for responding to this question may not be choosing one or the other but instead describing to the interviewer how you could avoid cutting corners and still bring the product to market on time.
