Did you have any difficulty finding your way here? How was the drive in?

It is illegal for a potential employer to ask you if you have a car and discriminate against you if you don't own a motor vehicle. However, they are allowed to ask questions such as this to get you to reveal that information. The real reason they ask such questions is to assess how reliable your attendance will be. Too often, employees blame poor attendance on their bus, their ride being late, or their taxi not showing up, trying to pass it off as beyond their control. This can cause management issues while overburdening the rest of the team. Worse, if that employee has created strong working relationships, their dismissal could snowball into mass resignation.

Answer this question in whatever way makes you feel comfortable. Ultimately, your answer should contain the message that you had a relaxing commute to the interview and that you manage your time well, have impeccable attendance, and take every measure to arrive early and stress-free.
