Question 26 of 35

At Stryker, many of our sales relationships are with large hospital organizations. In previous roles, how have you made connections with the right people in large hospital organizations?

"My work over the last six years in pharmaceuticals has included prospecting new hospitals and clinics in a very large territory and getting in front of the right people has always been the name of the game to lead to success. Department administrators and department chiefs are who I focus my time and efforts on. I start with a phone call to set up a 30-minute date and time that is convenient for them to talk about our products. I'm very thorough in requesting email addresses so I can send them materials to read ahead of our meeting. From my understanding, this role at Stryker will have contact with the surgical theater staff and administrators of some of the largest hospitals in the territory and I look forward to providing top-notch service and sales results in the years to come here."

      How to Answer

With products like their SurgiCount System and innovative joint replacements, Stryker works with many large hospitals around the world. Their customers include 60% of the US News & World Report's top 10 Honor Roll Hospitals. If you are being interviewed for a position that will be working face-to-face with high-profile customers, your interviewer will be looking to hear that you have some experience in this realm. While your resume can give them a good majority of the story of your experience, now is the time to discuss the relationships you have built throughout your career to this point. It's important to focus on the communications and service you provided to show how you will continue to do so as part of the Stryker team.
