1. Are you willing to relocate?
How to Answer
Spirit commonly asks this question, as there will be certain routes you may have the option of consistently working. Your flexibility may also increase your chances of winning the opportunity. They currently advertise their locations as being in Nevada, Colorado, Texas, Illinois, Michigan, Florida, Georgia, and Pennsylvania. Spend time contemplating whether this is an option for you before your interview and put some thought into your answer. If you have a personal preference for where you'd prefer to relocate, feel free to share that as well.
Written by Kevin Downey on February 2nd, 2023

Adaptability
2. As a Flight Attendant, you will be asked to work a wide range of hours and a lot of overtime. Are you able to accommodate the unpredictable schedule associated with being a Flight Attendant?
How to Answer
Assure the interviewer that you are aware of the inconsistent schedule associated with being a flight attendant. However, any questions you have pertaining to these expectations, you'll want to answer for yourself before your interview. There was recently an agreement between Spirit Airlines and the flight attendants in the service of Spirit Airlines through their union that offers protections and limitations regarding overtime, among other things. Spend some time reading through this agreement and avoid bringing it up in your interview. Discussions on Unions can be a touchy subject, and you never know where they stand on such issues. So in this case, it is best to inform yourself and be straightforward with your response.
Written by Kevin Downey on February 2nd, 2023
Experienced Example
"In my most recent position with Airline XYZ, I had an inconsistent schedule that required me to often be on call. I worked many weekends and holidays. This is part of the lifestyle of a Flight Attendant, I completely understand. I'm happy to work any hours that are offered to me."
Answer Example
"I am available for a wide range of hours, and overtime. I prefer to be made aware of my schedule ahead of time so that I can make appropriate childcare arrangements."
Adaptability
3. All employees of Spirit Airlines are expected to wear a uniform to work. Are you comfortable with this policy?
How to Answer
For some, uniforms can be a controversial topic. However, in the airline industry, uniform use is more common than not. Discuss with the interviewer your experience of working in uniform and your willingness to abide by the dress code within Spirit Airlines.
Written by Kevin Downey on February 2nd, 2023
What You Need to Know
Answer your own questions in advance so you come across as thoroughly prepared for your interview. This is another topic that can be answered in the agreement between Spirit Airlines and the flight attendants in the service of Spirit Airlines through their union. While Spirit expects their employees to purchase their own wardrobe of uniform options, the agreement guarantees a Uniform Allowance after a flight attendant completes twelve months of active service, where they'll be provided with a $125 uniform credit on their anniversary date each year, which will later increase to $150.
Written by Kevin Downey on February 2nd, 2023
Answer Example
"Uniforms are very important in this industry so, yes, I am comfortable with this policy. I would love to see the uniforms before I fully commit, of course."

How to Answer
First Aid and CPR training is a requirement for many roles in the airline industry. Assure the interviewer that you have current and valid certification in CPR and First Aid. If you do not, see if there is time to enroll in a local class before your interview or to get an appointment on the books. Many local municipalities will hold free CPR training, many times at your local fire department. See what is available, as it is always a good skill to have.
