It felt great to accomplish so much and receive recognition for my dedication."

When he walked into the store, employees would announce over their headset system that the owner was in the building so that everyone could prepare for his entrance into their work area. I am a perpetually positive person, so I assumed he had great intentions; however, his people skills were a little rough. I could see that he meant well, and I recognized that he wanted to do good things. I was determined to help my co-workers see this as well. When we interacted, I always took his feedback with the understanding that he didn't mean things as harshly as he might say them. Slowly, he began to soften up. As my colleagues saw that my approach was working, they began to communicate with the owner in the same manner. After just a few months, the mood of the store was more positive, and our team was much more at ease."

I went in with the ability to meet and greet new colleagues and looked forward to learning new ways of doing things. In the end, it worked out well for the company from a financial perspective, so the changes were well worth the challenges we faced initially."

I look at your development of Inmazeb and the great things it has done for the successful treatment of the Ebola virus around the world."

"Before this interview, I read about your acquisition of Checkmate Pharmaceuticals, and that excited me. I have a passion for cancer treatment and think so much is on the horizon in the coming years for advancements in drugs and immunotherapies for all cancers."

When day-to-day job duties are thrown into the mix, I use my work calendar to help me set aside dedicated time for different tasks."

"When faced with a complicated problem in my current role, I will look to the resources my current company has provided me. The answer is almost always in there. If it's a moral dilemma rather than a knowledge-based dilemma, I will ask my director or team lead for their thoughts and opinions since I value them as mentors and experts in our industry."
