When the employee feels that their poor behavior goes unnoticed, the behavior often becomes worse. The next person that we hired would spend too much time walking around the office talking to coworkers. We had a respectful and positive conversation about it, and the problem stopped. He's still one of the most successful and productive employees there."

"In five years, I would like to learn as much as I can, as quickly as I can. I'd seek out opportunities to expand my knowledge through training and educational opportunities that support my role in marketing. I'd love to participate in at least one project geared toward leadership training if the opportunity arises. I also understand that Microsoft has a strong volunteer focus, and I'd like to be an active participant in that team, as well. At some point, I'd also like to be considered for a leadership or management level role."

Starting out with what seemed to be some generic car promo, it cut into a glitch-like screen, displayed some text, then shifted to horses galloping through a field. The ad was so confusing that people thought it was an accident. and got people's attention. Viewers quickly flocked to social media to find out what happened, and they found a Tweet on Reddit waiting for them. According to The New York Times, it became one of the most talked-about, attention-grabbing, memorable, and shared ads of all time."

Interviewers ask this question to gauge how well your marketing taste aligns with the company's taste and to understand how you judge a marketing campaign's success. They are checking your understanding of the product and target market; they also want to see that you get excited by a great campaign. The most crucial part of this question is to assess how you might apply those positive attributes to future campaigns with Microsoft.

As you prepare for this type of question, consider the campaigns you have reacted positively to from the standpoint of both the consumer and the marketer. Demonstrate that you're excited about the marketing techniques, rather than the campaign's subject matter.

I also attend the American Marketing Association local networking groups, subscribe to the industry journal, and attend monthly meetings to network and stay in touch with colleagues. I really like what I do, and so it's interesting to me to learn and keep current with the ever-changing world we live in."

From the interviewer's perspective, they want to know that you are passionate about the industry. Someone who loves their job is willing to put in the extra effort. Staying abreast of industry trends is helpful in staying competitive, and in assessing new customer and marketing opportunities.

As the job candidate, convince the interviewer that you do keep with the industry. Cite up to three different ways that you keep up with the industry. Focus on the trends that you think are most important and most likely to change the industry in some way. Lastly, make your answer credible by explaining why each tool or process is effective for you.

Describe one of your most successful campaigns. What made it successful?

"I led my most successful campaign earlier this year when I worked with a client that required a complete marketing funnel to sell a new product. I worked with my team to build out each stage of the funnel and I was responsible for managing every phase of the project. We tracked every milestone and made adjustments to our marketing strategy along the way and responded to feedback from our consumers. We exceeded the revenue goal by 150%, which caused the client to hire my company again for its next digital marketing project."

They are also looking for you to demonstrate your experience in collaborating with a team or providing marketing support. Ultimately, they want to understand how you'll apply your skills to their marketing efforts if they hire you.

Multiple components go into the planning, execution, and results of a stellar marketing campaign. Respond to this question by outlining the campaign you worked on, its goals, its results, and your role. You will want to show that you have a proven track record of running, or participating in, successful campaigns and that you will be able to do this for them, too. Be prepared to describe the methods you used to plan a significant marketing campaign, how the campaign benefited the client, and how you tracked the campaign's progress and success.
